Letter to Voters

I am pleased to announce that I am seeking re-election for the Nevada State Assembly in District 40. It is an honor to serve you and it is my hope that I may continue to do so.

As a 32-year resident of Carson City and a teacher for 23 of those, I have been privileged to work with many individuals and families. This experience has provided me a sense of community. A community that prides itself on a commitment to quality education for our children, engaging in fair and open dialogue to form policy, and rewarding someone for an honest day’s work. It is with these principles that I will represent the residents of my district.

As you may know, I served as the Chair of the Assembly Committee on Education and was a member of the Health and Human Services and Government Affairs Committees during the last legislative session. It was important to bring together members of both parties to discuss all issues that were raised during session. From innovative school programs to encouraging economic development, there was not a single issue that I worked on during the session that affected only one party. The policies drafted affected all the residents of Assembly District 40 and it was vital that all perspectives were heard.

To continue this work, I will need your support. Whether through financial contributions, volunteering or endorsements, any assistance you are able to offer will help me continue prioritizing the needs of my constituents in the upcoming session. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on policies that will best serve all Nevadans and working on your behalf in the 2009 Legislative Session.
