When a constituent called to tell me that her husband had drowned in Lake Mead and that she wanted to do something to make everyone safer while enjoying a boating excursion, I decided that this issue would become a priority of mine. By the end of the session, we had passed AB 112, revising the law so that personal flotation devices are now required to be attached by rope to the boat so that if someone is in danger while in the water, multiple attempts can be made to save the person’s life.

Harley Davidson Financial asked for my help when AB 196 was introduced which would have closed their Carson City business. By working with my colleagues, I was able to protect important jobs in District 40.

Having experienced the devastation of the Waterfall Fire, I wholeheartedly supported passage of SB 497, which set aside funding for restoration projects in the Waterfall Fire area of Carson City through Fire Safe Councils.
